Scottish actor David Tennant’s latest film The Decoy Bride has been picked up by IFC films and given a US release date this week. The movie which will arrive in in early 2012 sees Tennant team up with fellow Scot, Kelly Macdonald (TV’s Boardwalk Empire) in a romantic comedy written by comedian Sally Phillips and Neil Jaworski.
Tennant plays a writer who is about to marry one of the most famous movie stars around, Lara Tyler, played by Alice Eve. The world’s media descend on the remote Scottish island where they are supposed to be getting married, but to put the paparazzi off the scent a local girl (Macdonald) is hired as a ‘decoy bride’.
Directed by Sheree Folkson, The Decoy Bride will be available on VOD (through your cable boxes) on 3rd February and released in theatres on 9th March.
There’s no trailer for this one yet, we will post as soon as we have it, but here’s a few images and a news report from the BBC, to give you a better idea of what it’s all about.
