A bit of breaking news to start this weeks Doctor Who roundup as a few details about the 2011 Christmas special and its guest stars have emerged. According to The Sun the festive special will take place in England during World-War-Two with guest stars to include Outnumbered star Claire Skinner as a “super-mum”, comedian Bill Bailey and fellow comics Alexander Armstrong along with Fast Show funnywoman Arabella Weir.

The special will see Madge Arwell (Skinner) and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts…

Talking of guest stars! This week sees the return of James Corden in an episode entitled Closing Time. According to the synopsis, in the last few days of his life, the Doctor pays a farewell visit to his old friend Craig (Corden), and encounters a mystery, as the time-travelling drama continues. People are going missing, a silver rat scuttles in the shadows of a department store, and somewhere close by the Cybermen are waiting…

With Corden back alongside the Doctor there is a ton of new videos promoting the next episode. We have the trailer and an introduction to Closing Time as well as a couple of clips from the upcoming Doctor Who Confidential featuring Corden and Matt Smith. There is a couple of Doctor Who insiders featuring last weeks guest star David Walliams and of course the latest images.

As always we have dug around to find some fun videos and pictures. This week we have a couple of very cool mashups! A Sherlock / Doctor Who theme tune mashup and a God Complex / The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer mashup. Both are definitely worth a few minutes of your time. Finally this weeks fan art features a couple of very simple yet beautiful posters from a couple of series six episodes!

Phew! Despite the unbelievable amount of stuff below, even more will appear later in the week. We will of course add anything else that appears to this post, so pop back for updates or keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Closing Time premieres this Saturday September 24, at 9pm ET on BBC America.

UPDATE – Just added two new clips from Closing Time reuniting The Doctor with James Corden’s character Craig.
