Just a couple of weeks now until The Hour lands on our screens, part of BBC America’s Dramaville that will see some great British dramas heading our way Wednesday nights throughout the remainder of the year (Luther & Whitechapel, are also on their way).
The Hour which has been described as the ‘UK version of Madmen’ and will run over six weeks starting August 17. The series, set behind the scenes of the BBC’s newsroom in London in the mid ‘50s, was created by the BAFTA award-winning writer Abi Morgan (White Girl, Sex Traffic, Brick Lane, Murder). It stars Dominic West (The Wire, Centurion), Romola Garai (Emma, Atonement) and Ben Whishaw (Bright Star, Criminal Justice, Brideshead Revisited) who all work in the newsroom but are also locked in a highly competitive, sharp witted and passionate love triangle.
With the shows arrival just a few weeks away, a new trailer plus a couple of clips have been released and The Guardian gave us a nice behind the scenes look at the show featuring stars Romola Garai, Dominic West and Eve Stewart that gives us a better look at the characters as well as showing the set designers’ amazing attention to period detail.
Take a look at all the videos below The Hour arrives on BBC America Wednesday, August 17, 10:00p.m. ET.
