Last month we brought you news that the U2 scored Broadway show Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark was going on hiatus to get a revamp amid bad reviews, walkouts, glitches and accidents. Irish rockers U2 were brought back in to write a new tune and over see the musical score to coincide with the revised plot and fixes.
The good news is the show previewed it’s reworked production on Thursday night and aside from a couple of minor glitches, theater goes were won over by the changes.

Along with the plot being streamlined, the $65 million show, the most expensive Broadway show in history, was give a brand new song written by Bono and The Edge titled A Freak Like Me. According to The Wall Street Journal snippets of classic U2 songs, including Where the Streets Have No Name and Beautiful Day are also now included in the production.

U2 may not have totally saved the day single handedly like a superhero, but for the purpose of this post lets just say they did!

Check out the new trailer for Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark below.
