British music legend David Bowie has announced he will be releasing a collection of remixes of his classic song Golden Years on CD and vinyl as well as on digital download. The tracks were remixed by four DJ’s at radio station KCRW following the re-issue of Bowie’s classic Station To Station album last year. The four remixes are available to stream on the KCRW’s website but on June 6th all the tracks plus the original single version will be released on 12″ and CD.
In addition to the EP, Bowie will also release a new iPhone Golden Years App, that will allow users to remix their own version of the song and share them with friends. The song will have eight tracks that you can mix down and play around with to create your unique version or alternatively you can simply shake your iPhone to create a random mix.
Bowie also recently announced the release of his new live album titled Birthday Celebration – Live in NYC 1997, available on April 26th and features the Foo Fighters, Lou Reed and others.
