Duran Duran kicked off their new world tour and comeback with a stellar gig at Stubb’s outdoor stage at SXSW in Austin, Texas last night.
“This is the beginning of Duran Duran’s world tour, right here at Stubb’s!” Frontman Simon Le Bon announced.
As the masters of synth-pop return to the limelight with their Mark Ronson produced album All You Need Is Now, the British band kicked off proceedings with their 1985 classic A View To A Kill before introducing new songs from the new album.
Duran Duran also announced this week they will be opening the new series of Unstaged: An Original Series from American Express. The live performance will be streamed live and acclaimed director David Lynch will be directing the whole show. View our previous post for more info here.
Emerging British band Yuck, who we featured in our British Music To Look Out For At SXSW 2011, opened for Duran Duran, playing their biggest gig to date.
