British rap star Plan B has been working on his directorial debut movie Ill Manors throughout last year and plans to finish it up for release in January 2012.
The film, which is a multi-character story set in Forest Gate, East London, depicts life where everyone is fighting for respect.
Speaking to British magazine NME, Plan B said,
“Ill Manors I shot in September, went on tour for two months and then I came back and edited it into a rough assembly in December, that’s where it is right now,”
He continued to say how he also plans to write the soundtrack to the film,
“I’ve got to write the soundtrack – which I’ve not even started – and have the film finished by November so we can release it in January 2012. It’s going to be a busy year. I wish there were two of me or I had a time machine or some shit.”
Not only has he got his schedule pretty full for this year so far, Ben Drew (Plan B’s real name) also aims to release his new hip hop album The Ballad Of Belmarsh before March this year. Although he admits this might be a stretch.
Live performances for Plan B are expected to be limited this year but he is on the roster to perform at this years SXSW Music Festival in Austin Texas next month in March.
Either way there is a lot of material coming from the Brit this year, so stay tuned.
