Comedy Central announced today that it will hold it’s first annual comedy award show.British television comedians Ricky Gervais and Russel Brand have both received nominations. Brand in the category of Comedy Actor- Film and Gervias in Stand Up Special category for his “Out Of England 2″ comedy show.This is what Ricky Gervais had to say about his nomination: ”It is an honor to be nominated for my stand up at this, the first-ever ‘The Comedy Awards’. In 68 years time, I intend to host it and get it canceled.”
The awards will be shown on Sunday, April 10 simultaneously on Comedy Central, Spike, TV Land,VH1 and Nick at Night.Here’s the full list of nominees:
