Red Sky At Night, Bond Fans Delight (Possibly)

Written on January 22, 2011 by Stewart

It seems that Bond 23 may finally have a title but then again it might not, it depends on whether you believe the British tabloid The Sun or not. The ‘news’ paper is reporting that that the Bond producers have settled on the title ‘Red Sky At Night’ for the long delayed and finacially troubled 23rd movie in the franchise. A lot of websites are now saying that this story is false but the Bond producers EON have yet to deny it so there may be some truth in it.

The good old ‘currant bun’ (Sun) is also reporting that Rachel Weisz (The Whistleblower) has signed on to play a leading part in the movie which is very interesting as the tabloids are currently trying to romantically link the actress, who recently split from Black Swan director Darren Aranofsky, with Commander Bond himself, Daniel Craig.

The rumours suggest that Weisz has not been offered the part of a love interest but that of the head of the shadowy organisation Quantum, who Bond has spent the last two movies trying to track down. Bond movies have had a string of female villains over the years but the actual ‘mastermind’ is usually an old male British character actor so it would be nice in these enlightened times for a younger woman to take the big role.

Whether Bond 23 is going to to be called Red Sky At Night or not it will be released in 2012 which just happens to be Bond’s 50th anniversary so we hope that MGM pull out all the stops and make a truly great movie.
