It’s already been reported that filming is well underway for British director Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel and now the first decent set picture has arrived. The picture shows Holmes (Robert Downey Jnr), Watson (Jude Law) and a newcomer to the crime fighting duo in the shape of Sim, played by Noomi Rapace from The Girl Who series.
The picture shows the trio escaping from some sort of explosion. It was originally rumoured that the Sim character would be a French Gypsy but in the picture it looks more like she’s wearing a US Cavalry type of military uniform.
As for the plot, we do know that Holmes and Watson will be going up against Moriarty, with Mad Men’s Jared Harris playing the cunning professor. Brit Stephen Fry is Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older brother, a man who has his own dark secrets but also the piercing intelligence that seems to run in their family.
Sherlock Holmes 2 is expected to be released some time in 2011.
