British Drama Downton Abbey received an average of 10.1 million viewers for it’s first season, the finale itself received 11.4 million it’s peak of the season. Television Critics have been giving great reviews of the ITV1 show. The show based in the early 1900′s saw Britain in the final episode going to war with Germany.
The British drama has been commissioned for a second season. The series is written by Oscar winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes and stars Dame Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville amongst others. Downtown’s makers, Carnival Films are owned by the US media giant NBC Universal.
