British music legend and punk’s frontman John Lydon is mourning the death of her step-daughter Ari Up who passed away at aged 48 after a serious illness. Ari Up was the lead singer of the punk reggae band The Slits which were at the center of the punk explosion and most famously known for their track Typical Girls and their cover of Heard It Through The Grapevine.
The Slits singer was an inspiration to many UK artists including the likes of Kate Nash and Johhny Marr, and released two albums Cuts and Return Of The Giant Slits, along with a solo record Dread More Dan Dead.
